Harvest Bagels & Cafe
Until now the only place I really knew to go for a good bagel was The Press Room on Hollywood Road. You have to understand that I am a complete bagel snob! The thing I love about The Press Room is that they actually import H&H Bagels from New York. The only problem is The Press Room only serves these dough rings on the weekends. So Monday-Friday I have been out of luck. Thank goodness I can now satisfy my bagel craving anytime thanks to Harvest Bagel & Cafe.Harvest opened recently on Lyndhurst Terrace. On the menu: bagels, loads of bagels, onion, plain, cinnamon crunch, everything.... I personally love just a plain bagel toasted and smothered with extra cream cheese! By the way, the cream cheese is homemade people. That's right, I said homemade. Flavors include plain, sun dried tomato, black olive, Cajun powder, pineapple, strawberry and even avocado. Guess what? They also make bagel sandwiches to order with all kinds of options from salmon to curried chicken. Also on the menu you'll find a tasty array soups, salads, and smoothies.
Take your bagel to go, or if you have time to sit and unwind Harvest sprawls over two floors. The bottom floor is more like a cafe and upstairs there is plenty of room to dine.

Cupcake Fridays
One very Sassy girl, Sabrina, has come up with the most brilliant (not to mention delicious) idea.....CUPCAKE FRIDAYS! She has officially declared Fridays to be the perfect time to catch up with friends after a long week while indulging in yummy cupcakes. Sabrina's exact words "every girl deserves a sweet treat at the end of the week!" Here at Sassy we love cupcakes, in fact, we don't discriminate--- chocolate, vanilla, sprinkled or not, homemade, store bought---whatever! I am definitely going to get on board with Cupcake Fridays. Unfortunately it may be followed up with Sweat Saturday (burning off those calories).....it is soooo worth it though! Here is a list of some of our cupcake favourites:

Incredible Edible Creations

IEC was started by Cheri Keller, who by the way is a very Sassy Lady and loves all things girly. She started it when she realized that no one in Hong Kong was doing fruit baskets in a fun and pretty way. She knew that Hong Kong had a strong tradition of giving fresh fruit or flowers for special occasions so she figured she would combine them both to provide a beautiful statement piece that can be eaten as well!
While we are loving the selection of chocolate covered strawberries that are offered at IEC their specialty is their baskets. Each arrangement is made from the freshest fruit and it is the perfect gift if you are looking for something a little bit unique. I think the baskets would be perfect for a baby shower, bridal shower or a girly afternoon tea.
Check out IEC’s website and see what amazing things you can do with fruit. You can place an order by phone, fax or email and they offer free delivery!
Come stop by Otto Lounge tonight to sample IEC’s delicious chocolate covered strawberries because we have a feeling that you will love them!
P.S. One lucky girl will win a voucher for a free fruit basket at Sassy Hour Tonight!

Anyone up for a Margarita? It is Cinco de Mayo!

- Agave (33 D'Aguilar Street, LKF)
- Izote (55 D'Aguilar Street, LKF)
- Coyote Bar and Grill (114-120 Lockhart Road, Wanchai)
- Caramba (26-30 Elgin Street, Soho)
- El Taco Loco (9 Staunton Street, Soho
- Tequila (11 Old Bailey Street, Soho)
- Skip the refined tortilla shells and use whole-wheat tortillas instead. Better yet, I may go the low carb route and use lettuce to make lettuce wraps
- Use chicken instead of beef in my tacos
- Substitute whole black or pinto beans for refried beans
- I love the word moderation so even though I am trying to keep it healthy I still need to have my cheese and guacamole, so for me moderation is the key with these two!
- Finally, I am going to make a Skinnygirl Margarita, which is the signature drink of Bethenny from the Real Housewives of NYC. Check out her website for the recipe!
